The case for a Crossrail 2 station on the King’s Road is compelling. Despite a vocal celebrity led opposition, Keep Chelsea Moving was established to stand up and speak out for all the ordinary people who will see their lives improved by a new station.

Keep Chelsea Moving is supported by large and small businesses, major employers and cultural, educational and medical institutions in Kensington & Chelsea. Together we employ over 20,000 people and attract over 30 million visitors to the area each year.

But we are not just talking about how it will benefit our employees and visitors but countless others; local independent businesses that would see an increase in footfall, medical staff at the three major hospitals that the wider London community rely on, their patients and those with difficulty walking, teachers and pupils in local schools, museum assistants, catering staff as well as local residents who seek a good transport network to increase their job opportunities.

It has long been acknowledged that Kensington & Chelsea lacks good integration with the wider public transport system, with Sloane Square and South Kensington currently overcrowded and unable to provide step-free access. We would like to see this situation improved so Chelsea can continue to thrive for the generations to come.

The proposed Crossrail 2 station is a once in a lifetime opportunity to improve transport links and deliver vital investment to the area to ensure it remains one of the UK’s top places to live, work, shop and visit.
